Our reviewers
On this site, modern translations and explanations may appear as clearly labelled drafts while review is pending. None is labelled scholar-reviewed or published until a named Tamil scholar has read it, edited it, and approved it. This page is where those reviewers will be credited — by name, with their field and the number of passages they've signed off.

We are being deliberately honest about this. During Phase 1 we are drafting content and building the review tools, but we have not yet onboarded the scholars who will formally approve it for publication. Until a real, consenting reviewer signs their name to a passage, that passage stays marked as a draft across the site — exactly as you'll see it now. We will never list a reviewer who has not given written consent, and we will never present AI-drafted text as scholar-approved when it isn't.
How review works
- 1. Draft. A modern translation or explanation is drafted with AI assistance from the sourced originals.
- 2. Review. A named Tamil scholar reads it against the original, edits freely, and either approves or sends it back.
- 3. Approve. Only on approval does its status change from draft to scholar-reviewed — and the reviewer's name and the date are recorded and shown in the provenance note on that Kural.
Our build system enforces this: a published modern reading without a recorded reviewer will fail the build. The chain of trust isn't a promise — it's a rule the software won't let us break.
