Master the 4 + 3 Meter Pause
சீர் பிரிப்பு & தளை நயம்
The #1 mistake judges penalize is reciting the Kural in one breathless, rushed run. Every Kural has exactly 4 words on the first line, followed by a half-second breath pause (அரை வினாடி இடைவெளி), then 3 words on the second line. Use our Rhythm Metronome in the Practice Studio to internalize this natural breathing pace.
Crisp Tamil Diction
உச்சரிப்புத் தெளிவு (ழ, ள, ல)
Judges listen closely for the delicate difference between the retroflex ழ (zha), the hard ள (la), and the dental ல (la). Don't rush! Encourage your child to record their voice using our Voice Mirror to listen for whether *உலகு* or *அடைக்குந்தாழ்* sounds crisp and distinct.
