You are almost certainly not going to renounce the world, and this chapter is worth reading anyway. What it describes is not a lifestyle you are being invited to copy. It is a capacity, and the capacity is transferable.
Verse 22 sets measuring these people's greatness as a deliberately impossible sum — like trying to count everyone who has ever died. Having made the point that they cannot be ranked, the chapter then tells you exactly what they do: they guard the five senses with the goad of understanding (24), they have quelled the five sensory desires (25), and one who can discern the five holds the world inside their understanding (27).
