அறிவின்மை யின்மையு ளின்மை பிறிதின்மை
யின்மையா வையா துலகு.

அருமறை சோரு மறிவிலான் செய்யும்
பெருமிறை தானே தனக்கு.

ஏவவுஞ் செய்கலான் றான்றேறா னவ்வுயிர்
போஒ மளவுமோர் நோய்.
“Advised, he heeds not; of himself knows nothing wise; / This man's whole life is all one plague until he dies.”
காணாதாற் காட்டுவான் றான்காணான் காணாதான்
கண்டானாந் தான்கண்டா வாறு.
